Australia is one of the greatest countries on earth and yet our rate of youth homelessness is a national crisis. Each night more than 30,000 people under the age of 25 sleep without shelter.
The Chappell Foundation raises funds to donate to those working on the frontline to end this national crisis.
Kennards Hire House was opened in 2018, by the (previous) NSW Minister for Family and Community Services, Pru Goward. The renovated house was made possible from funding provided by Kennards Hire and the Kennard family, and labour donated by building company Total Construction. Kennards Hire and the Kennards Hire Foundation continue to provide ongoing support to Stepping Stone House and its programs.
The Property Industry Foundation believes that every young Australian deserves a safe, secure home environment. They bring together the property and construction industry to build homes for homeless youth through a cost-efficient model, The PIF House Program. Each $1 raised through the program is matched through in-kind donations of skills, labour and goods. The Foundation has been building and refurbishing homes for homeless youth since 1996 and aims to build 300 bedrooms for homeless youth by 2025.

In addition to being one of the biggest corporate teams at the annual Sleep Under the Stars Event, their drivers have been instrumental in delivering the SSH Drive to Freedom Program as volunteer driver mentors.
With 91 Retail Box Shops across Australia, supporters of Stepping Stone House have probably seen their iconic boxes in action at our annual Sleep Under the Stars fundraiser. Kennards Self Storage are also a key sponsor of the SSH Regatta fundraiser, and donate the leftover rental funds from their storage facilities to support our youth.

As part of the Outward Bound International network, Outward Bound Australia deliver powerful learning experiences that harness the transformative impact of adventure and the outdoors. Stepping Stone House are fortunate to partner with Outward Bound Australia to deliver Resilience Adventure Camps, and help our youth achieve their Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Known across the world for creating Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat programs for marketing and design, Adobe ANZ are also staunch supporters of the youth at Stepping Stone House. In addition to their heavy involvement in our Sleep Under the Stars fundraiser, Adobe ANZ have previously funded our Family Restoration role for one year. Adobe ANZ are also currently helping deliver SSH’s virtual program, Skills for Life, through pro-bono project management support and the provision of the Adobe Captivate platform completely free-of-charge.
